Some printers, like Epson, use ink to clean the nozzles and use a "maintenance tank" to collect the waste ink.  I reckon that my 7800 puts between one-third and one-half of the ink onto the paper.  The rest goes to the maintenance tank.

Does anyone have any views on the new 2880?  or the current 3800.

Hi Andy,
I have a 2880 and since I have got the custom profiles from our friendly paper supplier I am very happy with the colour. You are welcome to come over and have a look any time:)
