As I'm sure you are already aware I went to and enjoyed both of David's workshops.  Our workers' cooperative sponsored the classical posing and lighting one by providing coloured gels from a film set that went on to be recycled by Jinx as flashgun gels.  I don't know if that will qualify us a "environmental" togs or not though.  Wink

I have to say that Tim was a great part of the success of conference for me, I am delighted to have built a friendship with him. It was he who collected me from Heathrow, found a great chippy for lunch, provide the red and green gels and generally turned out to be a great friend.

We had the gels, but no lights, no computer, since I was set up for PC and the convention was all Mac, someone did come to the rescue, for that I thank you, but for the life of me I can't remember who.

By the way: thanks to those who ordered CDs by phone the orders are being processed now.

Just doing my job my love.  It's on the job description of all good socialists and extreme photographers to come to the aid of the good and great.  I'll find a better chippy for your next visit.  Those french fries (that haven't been within 3000 miles of France) have damaged your palate methinks.  It's a master fryer or nothing next time.  partybeer

Those french fries

You are referring to the extruded Polystyrene variety served up in USA. I am constantly telling them that Chips were invented in Oldham, Lancs. Moreover I'd love to see the face of a yank who went into an English pub and ordered a plate of fries Roll Eyes just to served up with Sheep's 00

The CDs have been shipped out now and you should all have them within a day or two.

Just for those who didn't get to see the seminar we discussed classical posing and lighting with a Power Point presentation that had schematic diagrams of the lighting set up like this:-

Just received my disk from David this Morning, the multi cultural one.

I have to say it is great, very informative, very helpful. If you are doing a wedding that is outside your culture, then this disc is a must, and worth every penny.

Thank you David for having the forsight in making something like this.

Even if you have not got a wedding in another culture, it is worth getting just for the information value, go get it bought, you will not regret it, and you never know, you might learn a thing or too as well!

Thanks for mentioning that Jamie, I trust it will serve its purpose, when you're covering the Hindu wedding. Don't forget to ask lots of questions they're not all the same each officiant can vary things enormously.

During the past couple of days I received a good few e-mails asking about the classical portrait CD. Let me explain it has a selection of simple poses for men and women, there are lighting diagrams to show how the lights are set up. For the most  part  I kept to a maximum of two lights, leaving the reader to build up from there. The basic set up is explained both in text and by schematic as shown above and yes for those who asked I have explained how I do group portraits in the home.

The most frequent question was How Much?

$30 I pay shipping, so that works out at about twenty pounds in your hands.
