Come on movie buffs, come forth from behind your cinema screens and stupidly big plasma screen tvs and share the movies you've seen lately, and what you've rated them!

I'll go first shall I!?

Avatar: Truly EPIC movie.  Amazing CGI effects, truly humble storyline and an all round AWESOME movie. Rated *****

Law Abiding Citizen: Gripping. Gerard Butler is sexy and just plain rockin in this movie, and a movie with a wicked twist! Rated ****

Cheesy

I love movies but ain't been to see one in a while. So here are a few from DVDs

Shooter- mark whalberg a us marine recon force sniper caught up in a assination plot. Very JFK conspiracy type of film in the view of the "framed shooter" a very good action piece I give it 8.5/10 actually made me watch JFK again so the next is

JFK - Kevin Costner tries to prove that lee Harvey oswald wasn't the only shooter involved in the plot using facts frim the actual assination such as the magic bullet trying to prove the Warren commision got it wrong.  10/10 for me one of my gave films

Hey Johanne,

That "Knowing" movie has me curious, ever since seeing a trailer for it on a DVD I rented from Lovefilm, and I must admit - it looks pretty awesome, will have to rent it now! haha.

Hi Keith,

I must admit, I've not seen either of those movies, but I like dramatic storylines, so like "Knowing" I'm going to have to rent the 2 you mentioned also, lol.

A good DVD I saw recently was Transporter 3, not as great as the 1st, but still pretty cool because its The Transporter and he kicks some serious B-hind ya know! A really BAD movie to watch out for Saw 6. Painful, so please please PLEASE bypass it, lol.

Hi Debs

Welcome to the forum. Over the holidays I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's with Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard on DVD, as my wife Nicky wanted to see why it was a classic. I would say that were it not for the presence of Hepburn and the wonderful spark between her and Peppard, the film has little to merit it being a classic. However it is sublimely evocative of the time and, I am no film (the film it was filmed on) buff, but there is something special about the "look" of those early 60's colour movies, and of course there is the truly wonderful film score, "Moon River"by Mancini/Mercer.

As a footnote, I have a friend who has that same elegant look that Hepburn had, and I am thinking of doing a project of recreating some of the superb photographs of her. I was also watching a Mark Cleghorn video in which he was asked a question about posing the female body, to which he replied "Audrey Hepburn is the place to start."

Haven't seen it myself but my son came home raving about Sherlock Homes.

God bless

I saw Avatar at the IMAX in Brum in 3d, absolutely stunning, amazing world, amazing 3d, great acting, big blue people. I was in awe for almost 3 hours. Was so glad it was as long as it was.

Went to the cinema recently and watched `The men who stare at goats`.
Yes, it is as weird as it sounds.
Stars George Clooney and Jeff Bridges and is quite good, (and definitely far out man), but wasn't quite as good as I hoped it would be.
If I was to rate it I would give it a 6.5 out of 10.

Harry Brown is like an english version of that, but without the humour. Very violent, very grim, very good acting.
